What is needed is a new system of education, one which does not limit …..; a system which would enter the whole life of man – his aspiration, his work, his play – in the rhythm of his daily development.
If, like adult dogs and cats, we find it difficult to play together, we can have the assurance that the puppy and the kitten who grow up together will be able to live together when they are adult, and to practice together the plays of friendship.
The occupation of a child, and his only occupation, should be play, and if our education cannot be play, it is better not to have any. A hundred years ago 80% of our children were crippled by slave labour. Today 100% are crippled by education.
A movement can be really beautiful only when the whole being participates in it. When a child stands up, the universe stands up. When he dances, the cosmos dances. The whole being must become conscious that there is only one consciousness.
any educated incompetent can take. It requires a man, a true individual, a mature being, to contribute something which is uniquely his. For this, man is loved, is truly recognised, is accepted into the heart of the community, the soul of the nation, the evolutionary movement of the world.
